Hey, Voop here.
This guide shows you how to find a kid who goes missing. Admins, team leaders and guardians can use the missing feature for a kid in a care team that they have responsibility for. We recommend only using this feature in an emergency.
Please note that the data surfaced through the missing feature is dependent on the availability of up-to-date cell tower data.
Follow these steps:
Login to your Voop account here.
On the left hand side of the screen, click on the name of the kid who you want to report as missing. Click the button in the top left corner that says ‘report missing’.
A pop-up will appear, confirming that you want to report the kid as missing. Click the red button to report the kid as missing. An alert will appear in the alert feed for any other admins, team leaders and guardians who have responsibility for the kid.
You’ll immediately see a red activity alert in your activity feed on the right-hand side. Voop will now start searching for the cell site that the kid’s smartphone is nearest to, provided they have network reception. We’ll also send a push notification to the kid’s phone, explaining that you’re looking for them, encouraging them to contact you, and to start sharing their location through the Voop app.
Cell tower location updates will appear in the activity feed on the right-hand side. These will refresh periodically, approximately every few minutes. Some cell sites will provide a greater level of accuracy than others. The map will show additional cell site locations if the kid has been in these areas during the missing incident.
Once the missing incident has ended, you can mark the kid as found by clicking the button in the bottom right-hand corner. You can enter the location of where the kid was found, and your Voop dashboard will return to normal.
