Hey, Voop here.

This guide shows you how to install Voop on a kid’s smartphone. Admins, team leaders and guardians can install Voop on a kid’s smartphone, once the kid has been added to a care team.

Please note that each Android device has their own eSIM installation process. As a result, this guide may not perfectly reflect the installation process for the specific device you’re using. We recommend you use this guide as a framework, but you may need to adapt slightly depending on the device you’re using.

Follow these steps :

  1. Login to your Voop account here.

  2. On the left hand side of the screen, click on the name of the kid whose smartphone you want to install Voop on. A box will appear saying ‘no device connected’. Click ‘set up device’.

  3. A new screen will appear, which will run you through the installation of a Voop eSIM. Select ‘android’ as the operating system and tick the box to show that you require an eSIM. Click ‘submit’.

  4. It may take a moment, but a message will appear with instructions on how to prepare the smartphone for installing Voop. Before doing anything you need to factory rest the smartphone, so make sure that you’ve backed it up beforehand.

  5. Turn the smartphone on and, before pressing any other buttons, tap the screen until the camera appears and is ready to scan a QR code. The number of times that you need to tap the screen for the camera to appear will depend on the smartphone’s make and model.

  6. On the browser, click ‘I’m ready to install’. A QR code will appear. Scan the QR code with the smartphone camera.

  7. On the smartphone, connect to Wi-Fi or a mobile hotspot. You’ll need an internet connection to support the eSIM installation, after which you can use mobile data. Once connected, the smartphone will start to prepare for installation. This may take a moment or two.

  8. On the smartphone, click ‘next’ when you’re told that the device belongs to your organisation. The smartphone will now prepare the work setup. This may take a moment or two. Once this is completed, you can click ‘accept and continue’.

  9. On the smartphone, click ‘continue’ on the Voop enrolment page. On the usage access page, click on the Voop icon at the bottom and toggle the switch to permit usage access. Click the back button twice, until you get to the Google services page. Click ‘accept’ to the Google services.

  10. On your browser, click ‘continue’. The installation is complete! You can now start setting up the management of the kid’s smartphone on the Voop dashboard.
